Two Artists Talk Berlin Over Beers Wil Murray and Joe Dilworth discuss art and their adopted hometown.
When we think about major artist hubs, New York City might be the first place that jumps to mind. But, there’s another city that is arguably the world’s top city for artists—Berlin. Since the fall of the Berlin wall, the city has transformed into a cultural powerhouse, attracting artists from around the world, drawn by studio space, relatively affordable living and a bustling gallery and museum scene. (According to Lonely Planet, the city has over 440 galleries and 10,000 international artists living there.) Twyla artists Joe Dilworth and Wil Murray are two Berlin expats (Wil is Canadian; Joe is British). We brought them together over a few beers and listened in as as they talked about art and their city.
