Twyla artist Michelle Jezierski’s exhibit opens in Germany at Kunsthaus Taunusstein.

It’s the last day to check out the Art Basel fair in Miami. Come say hi to us at the very swank Twyla House!

Have a very twisted Christmas. See the always-irreverent John Waters perform in his own Christmas Show at the Comedy Store in LA.

He’s one of the greats so don’t miss this one. Check out the Cy Twombly retrospective at Centre Pompidou in Paris.

If you happen to be in Philly, pop in to see Twyla artist John Chang’s solo exhibition at Holy Family University’s art gallery.

Stop by the Josef Albers exhibition at David Zwirner gallery in NYC. This show focuses on his gray scale square works.

Twyla artist Trey Speegle is known for his paintings inspired by vintage paint-by-numbers kits. He’ll be signing copies of his new book at Design Within Reach in Austin today.



December 10
Avoid the dreaded, drunken nightmare known as Santacon and dip into the Met Breuer for the largest-ever retrospective of American artist Kerry James Marshall.

Indoor Christmas activities in Chicago...in December? Sounds perfect. Check out the 50 foot indoor Ferris wheel at the Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier.

The show is sold out, but maybe a friend will invite you along. Bon Iver is playing tonight at Kings Theater in Brooklyn.

Poor LA, all they have is fake snow. Enjoy the un-Christmasy weather while shopping at the Grove in LA and watch it “snow” from 7-8pm.

Listen to the sweet sounds of hundreds of tuba players at Merry TUBACHRISTMAS the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Don’t laugh, it’s the 43rd anniversary!

Take a break from checking out the festive store window displays and take the fam to see the Rudolph musical at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

The Pace Gallery in Chelsea, NYC presents Rothko: Dark Palette, an exhibition tracing the history of Mark Rothko’s use of dark colors in his sectional paintings.

"Mariah Carey's Merriest Christmas" is a one-hour musical special featuring outstanding performances of holiday songs by the incomparable pop diva herself - Mariah Carey, including a duet with 11-time Grammy Award winner Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds. Emmy Award winner Kelsey Grammer gives an unforgettable reading of "The Night Before Christmas." Billy Gardell ("Mike & Molly") appears as Santa Claus. Additionally, cast members from "A Christmas Melody" - Lacey Chabert, Brennan Elliott and Fina Strazza - join the festivities sharing holiday memories and experiences from working with Mariah on- set during production of the movie. See an authentic gospel concert this Christmas. The Harlem Gospel Holiday Celebration and concert is today.

Merry Christmas! Now escape your family and have a drink at one of NYC’s bars that are open on Christmas, like Bemelmans Bar in the Carlyle Hotel.


December 26
It’s the first day of Kwanzaa and you can celebrate at the Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum with their Annual Kwanzaa Celebration. There will be family-friendly live music, interactive movement and storytelling.
