28 Days of Twyla / February Your art and culture event list for the month.

February may be a funny month, with its missing days and all, but it’s a good one. There are many not-to-be-missed art and cultural events happening around the US and beyond on this list here. Groundhog Day, the Super Bowl, Fashion Week, and Chinese New Year….and that’s just in the first 9 days!

February 1
There’s just a few days left to see Paul McCarthy’s solo show “Raw Spinoffs Continuations” at Hauser & Wirth New York.


February 2
It’s Groundhog Day! Celebrate the little guy (hopefully!) not seeing his shadow and head out for the opening night of future Twyla artist Jeff Muhs' solo exhibition Supernature. at Lyon Weir Gallery in Chelsea. 


February 3
If you’re in London, go check out Picasso Portraits at the National Portrait Gallery before it’s too late.


February 4
Check out the Chinese New Year Parade and Festival in LA. It’s turning 118 this year, making it one of the city’s oldest traditions.

February 5
It’s the Super Bowl! In honor of its Houston location, snack on some queso and BBQ while watching the game and getting your Gaga on.

Hungry? Head to Portland for Chef’s Week PDX with big-name west coast chefs putting on themed, collaborative dinners.

See our artist Jonny Detiger’s exhibition Amplified Space, part of the Howl! Happening festival in New York.

It’s one of the last days to see Street Art House in LA, a pop-up art gallery. More than a dozen street artists have their own “rooms” that they've designed.

It’s the last day to see Twyla artist Adler Guerrier’s New World School of the Arts Alumni exhibition in Miami.


February 11
It’s the final day of Small - An Exploration of Miniature at Berlin’s Sexauer gallery, which features our lovely artist Michelle Jezierski.


February 12
We’re still mourning the loss of Ziggy Stardust. It might be time to take a David Bowie Musical Walking Tour in London.




February 13
If in Sin City, get a dose of culture at the Marjorie Barrick Museum’s group exhibit Process, featuring Twyla artist John Bauer.



February 14
Listen to Valentine’s Day tales that are worse than your own at the Mortified Doomed Valentine's Show at Wanderlust in Hollywood.


February 15
See the powerful work of Kenyan-born, Brooklyn-based artist Wangechi Mutu. Her show Ndoro Na Miti is now open at Gladstone Gallery in New York.


February 16
The inaugural exhibit at the Red Bull Arts Space is Bjarne Melgaard’s ongoing project, The Casual Pleasure of Disappointment. It includes everything from a music video collab with Jim Henson Company to a streetwear label, Narcotic Anonymous.

February 17
Check out David Hockney’s work at the Tate Modern and while you’re there catch some shows at London Fashion week starting today.

February 18
Kelly and Erykah Badu are headliners at Orange County’s Soulquarius festival. Plus, have we mentioned Ja Rule, Ashanti, Brandy and Monica? We’ll be there.
